Comments from John Hamer

  • "Next I had to download putty" — you might note that you had asked the lecturer by this stage. This is a reflective essay, so distinguish between having a great idea yourself and having the good sense to know when you need to ask for help.
  • "an hour of stuffing around" — say what you did during this time. That's half the lab time!
  • "all three values set to 100" — this value needs justification. Pulling numbers out of your head is not good enough. If you get it wrong, all of your results will be suspect [yes, you got it wrong]
  • You don't appear to have any understanding of the results from the stats tests. Are you aware of the need to understand these numbers? How are you going to learn what they mean?

By choosing to use a laptop without the necessary software (which is just the same software as we have used for every other lab this year), you ended up with very little to show for your two hours work. You have shown little insight into the task at hand, presenting a few numbers with no evident understanding of their significance.

A poor effort.
