Silverlight and SOAP
- Silverlight 1.1 SOAP and Content Server's SOAP 1.2
- Inconpatible
- Just want to try get SOAP message back
- Inconpatible
- SOAP needs requests
- Have API that handled by ..
- Supports SOAP, ASMX, RSFeeds, ...
- At least 4 types supported from WCF
Alternatives
SOAP
- Can try Java to try make Silverlight alternative
- Try Silverlight Test-1st for SOAP calls
- SOAP version compatibility issues
- Maybe syntax issues
- Ask Jesse & Craig
- Suggest to Jesse to test SOAP calls against itself
- Something that can be run on PC running itself
Contingency Plan
- SOAP message formats
- Described in API
- Need API to get stream for content
- Try play with Example one week, then see if we can get it going
- Otherwise, try Java
- Get a WSDL to generate
- Try C# for SOAP 1.2
- Web Servers
- Try C# for SOAP 1.2
Connection
- Get an application that can at least talk with web server
- Print back SOAP message at least
- Get C#/Java to get call from server
- Then see what happens next
- Then ask why "Why not those 2"
- Or use 1.1 to call 1.2
- Get C# to talk to it via C#
- Some kind of alternative
- Get C# to talk to it via C#
Alternative Application
- Doing design and streaming work
- Playing wmv
- Library/Sharing
- Not necessary to use TANDBERG API
- Youtube-like
- Connectivity pushed aside
- Reasonble for us to have separate Database?
- Yes
- Maybe own SOAP server to share content
- To the point of getting our own stuff working
- Extension to their own
- Put on wiki and share with Jesse
