Content Server Tutorial

The following information has been extracted from the 11 April Tandberg Meeting


Support Information

  • Most problems are in manual already
  • Supports IE, Firefox


Server Information

  • Will queue
    • Do stuff offline
      • Offline Transcoder


Video Information

  • Just focus on recorded first
  • Live when free
  • Can do 5 concurrent lives
  • Can do 2 lives


S3

  • Doesn't give thumbnails via API
  • We will get it later
  • They use links to video
    • Can use this to put 2 videos together


Conference Setup

  • Only owner can see
  • Don't need to think about replicating (?)
  • Clear password and name
    • So dont' need to authenticate later
  • Don't need to change media server
    • We'll use light stream server only


Creating Own Templates

  • Different Layouts
  • Filters
  • Double Screens
    • Need synchronization
  • Keep at local server
  • Live Stream
  • Alias
    • Put anything
    • Don't leave blank
  • Call Configuration
    • Default
  • Metadata
    • Attached to the conference
  • Categories can filter (?)
  • Anything here happens
    • Automated (Does it for you)


Creating a Conference

  • Uses DHCP
  • Default live
  • Can create conferences that have multiple outputs
    • e.g. wmv, wma, etc
  • Can use one play button
    • "Just let me watch content"
    • Chooses best resolution, configuration for you
    • We may need to check bandwidth detection on silverlight


Recording Information

  • Just volume needed


Gatekeeper Information

  • Similiar to phone operator
  • We don't have
    • Need to use IP address
