Further steps for the project
- Aim to have the implementation done by the end of the inter-semester break.
- Deal with the simple cases first, this will give a good foundation upon which to build up more complex cases.
- Definately stop implementation around Mid-End of August.
- Look into the use of emulators to trial out on different phones.
- This will provide a bigger survey in terms of the evaluation.
- Allow for comparison with the result that is run on the actual physical device.
- This will however be harder to test resource usage, connectivity, performance, energy usage etc.
- Lead into the discussion of the strengths and weaknesses/limitations of emulators.
- Continue with the way that we are starting the application (i.e. the application is started first then the testing application/process).
- Test Reports
- Have the actual values of the test execution visible in the test report for comparison. Could have a comparison between the expected and actual output generation, whether they match
- Look into how you want to generate the test reports given the XML and use of a predefined HTML generator if we need to.
For next time
- XML schema
- Test reports presentation
- Flesh out kinds of commands we can test
