Friday 11th April Meeting Agenda (a.k.a Requirements Meeting)

Meeting Times

  • What are the meeting times and dates with Tandberg, and how regular?
  • Will we meet via video conferencing?
    • Get Feedback on work done to ensure the implimentation more accurate reflects the user requirements/expectations.
  • Can we store the Tandberg video conferencing meetings on the web server for later use (from a requirements point of view)?

Requirements

  • What are the specific requirements and what is implicitly expected from Tandberg in respect to the project deliverables?
  • Are there connection caps (number of active connections to any single web server)
  • Is asynchronous access a requirement?
  • Is client-to-client communication a requirement? Or just Client-Server communication?
  • Focus on multipoint access (more than just two endpoints communicating)

Technical

  • Ask about Tandberg architectural structure and the significance to our project
  • What are the supported file types (video files)?
  • Is there a security model involved with communicating to the server from an application point of view?
  • What video housekeeping is involved on the server-side that is transperant (i.e. Size limitations for cache, connection timeout length, video section breakdowns, etc)
  • Does their API shield the application programmer from the underlying implementation? Is all communication completely transparent? (only SOAP required)
  • Are there minimal connection bandwidth requirements?
  • Which versions of the .Net framework is supported by customers?
  • What are the standard and minimal hardware requirements for using the Tandberg software
  • Is a thick or thin client part of the requirements? And does the solution have to be browser-based or applets allowed? Which protocol are acceptable?
  • Are we allowed to directly communicate with a database? (Particularly, the video information stored on the server, etc)
    • If Yes: Can we get SQL logon plivileages? (As part of requirements, or is SOAP the only allowed means of communication?)
  • Are we supposed to handle stored data or live (streaming related)?

Presentation

  • How much time will we get to present our deliverable to Tandberg? And who is the audience?
  • Will the presentation to Tandberg be the presentation assessment?

Our Solution

  • If Silverlight does not meet the requirements what alternatives do expect to replace Silverlight as the plug-in technology?
  • Is caching on the client-side an option?
  • Should the deliverable be more GUI interactive and friendly or feature rich?
  • Should the deliverable have any focus on the maintenance of video (system administration)?
  • Who exactly is the target audience?

Meeting Results

  • The requirements meeting went well. We got this agenda fully addressed which was great!
